Great staff, taking the buggy for a spin, and off to the pub!

I have to tell you this story...apart from its incredible luxury, it is the key thing that sets qualia apart i think. It starting raining this afternoon. Even the management at qualia can't control the weather (although they are probably working on it). It was depressing me a little because we were meant to go on a heli-tour over 'Heart Reef' and Whitehaven Beach. The weather wasn't bad enough to prevent the tour, just make it less than ideal. You need sunshine to get those lovely blue-water shots. No chance of seeing through the water either with the rain. I was whining about this to Chris over a cocktail at Pebble Beach..

Delicious by the way!

One of the bar attendants Melissa? from Melbourne? (I'm terrible with names!!!) pipes up with...'would you like me to try to organise something?'....ummm 'Pardon?' i asked. 'Would you like me to see if you can re-schedule your tour? I can ring ,and someone will speak to aviation and your tour operator for you'.....ummm 'Ok, but i'm not sure which company I'm flying with?'.. She assured me that was no problem. Immediately aviation had been contacted, weather analysed, tour operator tracked down, and not long after that i was given the option of taking my chances with the weather this afternoon, or moving it to the next morning... EASY. That is what intuitive, professional top-notch service is all about. She didnt have to do that. It wasnt her job. Her job was making me my cocktails at the end of the day... but she did it anyway. I was gob-smacked actually. Sometimes it can be a hassle getting people to do what they are actually paid to do in the first place...let alone expecting any extras. (Im sure im not the only one used to waiting for staff to finish their conversations about the weekend before acknowledging your presence). Good on you Melissa (geez i hope i've got that right!), I hope your boss reads this. While i'm doing staff shout-outs Jaime (pretty sure im spelling that wrong) from Mexico in The Long Pavilion is also a darling, and super lovely! In truth, all the staff were extremely professional, energetic and seemed genuinely happy to please...

Right, well since we no longer have a tour this afternoon, and its raining...Time to take our buggy for a spin around Hamilton Island. Use of a qualia buggy comes with your pavilion. Chris and I are feeling very relaxed and happy. We are doing all those 'newly-wed' type things like swanning around holding hands, and actually having full conversations that aren't punctuated with 'MUMMMMMY..wipe myyyy bummmm!!!' ... Pretty hard to feel the romance at times with 2 x  really energetic 4 year-olds in the house and a teenager. Feel like we are copping it from both sides at times...neither species are known for their rational thought and exemplary behaviours.

Well after some spectacular sightseeing, all roads (for Chris and Helen) eventually lead to the Pub...Time for a drink!

Maina Tavern

Cheers...

I love the next 2 photos of us...my hubby looks really happy and relaxed. This is the nicest couple shot we've had in ages. Obviously qualia is working its magic on us!

After the pub we sat on the water and had one of the branded pies lol.

But it wasn't going so well really haha...

Ever get the feeling your being watched???
